Digital stocks
The university library is continuously expanding its digital holdings. Currently, our license portfolio includes more than 440,000 e-books, 60,000 electronic journals and 179 subject databases.
Just like the printed titles, you can also find the e-books in our search portal ORBISplus. This portal also offers you access to our electronic journals - mostly with links to the full text of the articles they contain -, the special databases as well as research data and other free materials.
The Electronic Journals Library (EZB) is a complete directory for e-journals. There you can choose journals from over 100,000 titles listed.
The database information system DBIS offers you direct access to all licensed databases - including wiso, EBSCO Business Premier, Perinorm (DIN standards), IEEE Xplore, Web of Science and Scopus.

Fine for overdue books
Please remember returning the books or extending the loan period in time. If the due date is exceeded, fees will be charged according to the 'Gebührenordnung für die Bibliotheken des Landes Niedersachsen' (Fee Regulations for the Libraries of the State of Lower Saxony). Currently the amount for the first reminder is 2 euros, plus 5 euros for the second and plus 10 euros for the third reminder per book. Late fees for short loans are 1 Euro per unit/day.
Fees can only be accepted in cash or via CampusCards (fee machine) charged with money during opening hours. In special cases an invoice can be issued.
Renewals can be made online from any Internet-capable PC inside or outside the university. In case of problems, you can contact the library during opening hours by calling +49 4421 985 -2317 (borrowing).

Interlibrary loan
Literature not available in the library can be ordered via interlibrary loan. In this case, a fee of 1.50 euros per order must be paid in advance according to the current scale of fees. Please note the checkout times.
You can order literature free of charge that is available at other campuses of our university. Please contact the circulation desk.
Introduction into library use
Information on the library, the use of its holdings and individual databases etc. that go beyond the general introduction will be answered by the library staff at the circulation desk, by telephone or by e-mail (+49 4421 985 -2317 / ausleihe-whv@jade-hs.de).
The Moodle course Moodle-Kurs Basiswissen Bibliothek am Campus Wilhelmshaven offers a good introduction into the use of the library.

Loan
Borrowing media is free of charge.
The majority of the library stock is available for loan. The loan period for books is usually 4 weeks. Journals and reference holdings cannot be borrowed.
Renewals can be made online up to 8 times. It is also possible to arrange this personally on site or by telephone. For this and in case of other problems, you can reach us during opening hours by phone at +49 4421 985-2317 (Loan) and by e-mail at ausleihe-whv@ich-will-keinen-spamjade-hs.de

Moodle
The virtual learning platform Moodle is the central organisational platform in many degree programmes.
Lecturers provide you with documents and information in Moodle.

Reference management software
Reference management software citavi is available to all students free of charge. With citavi, you can keep track of the specialized literature relevant to you, store quotations conveniently and save ideas from being forgotten.

CampusCard registration to the library is possible during opening hours, exceptions will be made by arrangement only.

Workstations
There are 69 workstations in the open stacks, and 18 PC workstations in the reading room, fully integrated into the University network (virtual desktop). 4 workstations are available in the information area (independent of the University Library’s opening hours).
