Access to e-resources

Use e-books, e-journals and video tutorials 24/7

Regardless of when and where you study: university members can use most of our digital media around the clock, even from off campus.

To do this, you need the Virtual Desktop, which is provided by the University Computer Centre. This allows you to work on your computer as if you were in a university pool room and to use the electronic resources of the university library.

After installing a client program, you can log in with your university ID and access the university library's digital resources

For installation details, see the University Computing Centre wiki or use our handout.

For some databases and programs, you can alternatively log in using a so-called single sign-on procedure based on the authentication method Shibboleth. In this case the installation of a client is not necessary. We offer this procedure for our video portal LinkedIn Learning , the Hanser eLibrary, Scopus, statistawiso and among others. Details on access can be found in the DBIS entry for the respective database.
